The City of Kooskia is located at the
confluence of the South Fork & Middle
Fork of the Clearwater River. Our mild climate of warm days and cool nights is a
result of our low elevation, only 1265 ft; and protection of the
surrounding mountains. With a growing season of 165 days, and average
precipitation of 24.3 inches, the gardener can grow most anything here.
Snow seldom remains long in the City, but accumulates rapidly in the higher
elevations just outside of town, making for great winter sports.
